Photo Retouching
Before After
I chose to go with this option because I felt like the changes would be more evident than the others. For this photo of my twin sister and me (I am on the left, and she is on the right), my goal was to make the image look less warm and fuzzy. As well as make the image look like its own rather than a picture of one. I wanted a clean and smooth aesthetic. I achieved this goal, in my eyes, by adjusting the perspective of the image by rotating it so it wouldn't be on an angle as shown in the before image. Once I aligned the picture, I cropped it so the background was not showing. I think this was a major element in enhancing the image to look more original. I then used the lasso tool to remove any strong glares in, as seen on the yellow ball and in the top right. I still wanted the photo to look natural and not overly saturated or edited. On top of that I used the smoothing tool for the "clean and smooth" effect. My next step was to even the lighting by adjusting the exposure, and to even out the contrast with the black point tool in levels. I had to remind myself that this is retouching not hard editing, so I tried to achieve that with this project.
